Benita DeLuca, LCSW
"I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Arizona and the founder of Brave Heart Therapy. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from University of Kentucky and a Master's degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. I provide psychotherapy to individual adults (18+) and specialize in trauma, PTSD, complex PTSD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, mood disorders, and life transitions.
I am a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist as of September 1st, 2023. I also have training and experience providing trauma-focused treatment through the lens of Structural Dissociation Theory. In addition, I utilize other modalities including: ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), SFT (Solution-Focused Brief Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
My theoretical orientation is trauma informed and client centered. I take a multi-modal approach to treatment allowing me to assist my clients in discovering the origin of presenting challenges and distress.
As a therapist, my goal is to not just do something for you but rather be something for you. I am down-to-earth, compassionate, and caring but will also be straightforward and hold you accountable for your actions and behaviors for your best interest. My aim is to create the space where others can come to be, feel secure, experience absolute acceptance, and become empowered to rewrite any self-defeating narratives and perceptions of themselves.
